PlayFanatics has a rock-solid web presence that facilitated a great number of registrations for the games. Fans, have a site where they can register as well as buy sports gear. The players got a fun way to share content – tournament pictures and videos with their friends and family. A win-win for both.
The site had on an average 50,000 users per month, but the bounce rate was too high, which was bad, and also seemed to be affecting the search rankings of the site. While the registrations for different sports were open, the site was live with only 1 sport and its registrations.
Point blank user experience (UX) and interface (UI) was our solution to fixing the problem. We built a new website from the scratch on Wordpress. As a result of adding a proper structure to the site, navigation was improved. We added multiple sports in multiple locations for user convenience. We started updating the site constantly with the relevant event updates and videos. This gave the Play fanatics to visit and register for their favourite sport, and, search rankings for the website also improved as a result of lower bounce rates.
We were trying to identify the reason for the high bounce rate and figured the site needed improvements at so many levels. Hence, we revamped the entire site and made multiple pages for multiple sports. We added the region filter for the customer to check if a specific sport is happening in their city. Now the site has the ability to add more sports to the website if need be. We also integrated E-commerce website showcasing different sports gear.
When we bettered the navigational flow and provided with region filters, we saw a sudden increase in the average session duration by a visitor on the site. We also designed Homepage in a way that we included all the major events happening in the cities. The user was hence aware of all the important events and had his way around the site now and knew exactly what to look for and where. An amazing user experience thereby was delivered.
Around 85% of the users who came on site, seemed to come from mobile phones. This traffic was very important for us and hence we build responsive designs to fit across screens. The seamless experience resulted in higher traffic and better session durations on the website.
